Legislative Update
City Council Supports Automatic Enrollment of Earned Income Tax Credit

Councilmember Cedillo introduced a resolution in support of State legislation requiring taxpayers who do not qualify for the California Earned Income Tax Credit to opt out of the EITC, making sure everyone who does qualify for the credit would automatically receive it. Many families who need and qualify for the tax credit would then be automatically included in the credit.
