News from Habitat La Pine Sunriver: May 2020
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Thank you for your messages of support - and thank you for all you are doing to help one another in our tight-knit South County communities. Now, more than ever, we remain committed to our vision of accessible and affordable housing.
As the days lengthen and the flowers bloom, we normally would be welcoming volunteers back to the build site- a reunion of our longtime helpers and a warm greeting for volunteers just joining us. Though the shape of our volunteer programs may look different this spring, we are proud to announce that our build continues!
Habitat construction crews poured foundations for three new townhomes in early April, and framing has begun, with the help of a paid subcontractor. The framing will be complete in early July, allowing the next phase of building to continue. We are grateful to these essential workers for keeping our build going and for ensuring that our homeowners can look forward to having a place to live, their own home.
How can you help, even remotely?
  • Share this Habitat La Pine Sunriver news with your friends and families. We want our community to know what we are up to- and we want to be a resource for our neighbors in need of housing-related assistance. Many people are hurting right now, and Habitat programs are making a difference - right here where we live.

  • Stay tuned for details confirming when you can still volunteer! We plan to welcome volunteer crews when the framing is complete and state guidelines allow it- and are planning currently to change our schedules to host build volunteers on site four days a week (instead of two), to share the labor with fewer people on site at a time allowing the maintenance of social distancing.

Thank you, as always, for your work for our community. COVID-19 cannot prevent us from being good neighbors, especially now. We'll write again soon with another update on Habitat for Humanity of La Pine Sunriver programs, and we invite you to follow us on Facebook , LinkedIn , and Instagram and on our website for news in the meantime. Until then, stay safe and well.

With Gratitude,
