Faculty News

Congratulations to Silas House, who this week was inducted as Kentucky's Poet Laureate for 2023-2024! Here he is (below, far right) with past Kentucky Poets Laureate Frank X Walker (far left) and Crystal Wilkinson, along with Gov. Andy Beshear. Frank, Crystal, and Silas are all Spalding MFA alums from the charter graduating class of 2003.

Congratulations to Maggie Smith, whose memoir You Could Make This Place Beautiful debuted at No. 3 on the New York Times Best Seller list. She was profiled this week in The New York Times.

Congratulations to Brian Hampton (PW '06), our Distinguished Alumni Lecturer for the Spring 2023 residency! Brian will lecture on writing for and about teens. His teen plays have been been produced by over 450 theater companies and schools on five continents.
