A special invitation to area veterans and those currently serving our country
For the past several years, District 153 has elected to hold school on Veterans Day with the goal of teaching our students about the true meaning of the day. ln addition to classroom discussions and lessons about the sacrifices of our military  service men and women, we invite members of the community-both veterans and active duty personnel-to James Hart School for a special student assembly and breakfast, The event provides a wonderful opportunity for our student musicians and artists to show their appreciation.

4th-Graders Experience Hands-on Learning at Homewood Science Center
It was one wild ride on Oct. 22nd at the Homewood Science Center. Churchill School 4th-graders took a field trip to learn more about roller coasters and how they are engineered. During the field trip, they engineered their own roller coasters out of paper tubes, tape, and other common materials.
Students worked in teams to plan...
...and then build and test their roller coasters.

Congratulations to 8th-grader Harrison Riney!

Riney ran a personal best 11:41 at the IESA Cross Country State Finals meet on Oct. 19th. Way to go!
Panthers Get a Taste of High School during HFHS "Youth Night"

The James Hart band and cheerleaders performed with their HF High School counterparts during Oct. 4th's "Youth Night" football game. Many thanks to HF for giving our students such a wonderful experience.
Bilingual Parents Education Night

Many thanks to all the families who turned out for a potluck dinner and mindfulness presentation at our Bilingual Parent Education meeting at Willow School. It was our biggest crowd yet!
