COVID-19 Vaccination Information
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently approved the use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for all children age 12 and older.
 
Cook County Health is offering everyone age 12+ the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine free of charge at eight vaccination sites across the suburbs.

On May 10th, the Board of Education hosted a small gathering to say goodbye and thank you to retiring Superintendent Dr. Dale Mitchell. His 27 years of service to District 153 included stints as Assistant Principal and Principal of James Hart School, Business Manager, Assistant Superintendent and finally Superintendent of the school district.

The Board passed a resolution to re-name the school district's office, The Dr. Dale Mitchell Administrative Center (see image of future signage above). Also, the video below highlighting Dr. Mitchell's accomplishments and special leadership qualities was presented.

Our school community has one more chance to show Dr. Mitchell how much his leadership has meant. On Tuesday, May 25th, the school district is hosting a drive-by parade. See more information below.

FINAL PTA COOK’S NIGHT OUT FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR!
Homewood PTA will close out this year’s fundraising, the same way we began…at Aurelio’s Pizza! 

Please consider taking the night off from cooking, and have some delicious Aurelio’s pizza on Monday, May 17th. Whether you dine-in, carry-out or order for delivery, all count towards our fundraiser. PTA will receive 20% of all sales, when the fundraiser flier is presented.

James Hart Bands Outdoor Spring Concert

Everyone is invited to bring a folding chair to Irwin Park and enjoy an evening of music! Reservations are encouraged, but not required, and can be made by clicking here.  

These kids have soldiered on all year long in virtual lessons and outdoor rehearsals (sometimes cold and windy). Come on out and support these dedicated student musicians.

Dr. Mitchell's Drive-By Retirement Parade
Rain date is May 27
Pack the kids in the car and join District 153 in saying goodbye and thank you to our beloved superintendent, Dr. Dale Mitchell. Dr. Mitchell retires after 27 years in the school district, so let's send him off with a BANG! 

We'll be lining up for the parade in two locations (pick one!):
  1. Apollo Park's South Lot (be there by 3:20 PM), or;
  2. St. Andrew's Methodist Church parking lot (be there by 3:30 PM)

We'll line up and head over to Churchill School to honk and wave at Dr. Mitchell. 


Crazy car decorations and signs are strongly encouraged!
