Dear Chamber Members,

The next BUSINESS AFTER 5 will take place on Thursday, March 15, 2012 @ 5pm.  We will meet at the New Powderhorn Lodge.  Come and checkout the new facilities.  $2 for Members, $3 for NON-members.  This is a great networking opportunity!

At this point in time the Hurley Area Chamber of Commerce is hopeful that legislation will go through the Senate.  We have been working hard to bring these much needed jobs to the local area.  We still need your help with the matter at hand.  Please email or call the following Senators and ask them to vote in favor of Assembly Bill 426 and Senate Bill 488 regarding Mining.  The Senate needs to vote and pass mining legislation before March 15th or we risk loosing these much needed jobs.

Our first official organizational meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 13 @ 7 PM in the Hurley Chamber Office. We will be discussing the beginning details of our event and need as many in attendance to offer suggestions, make color decisions and sign up for any committees you may be interested in. All volunteers and area residents are welcome.

27th Annual Memorial ATV Rally

May 24-28, 2012

We are already receiving registrations for this year's Rally.  We will be holding the 1st Mandatory Committee Meeting on Thursday, April 5, 2012 @ 10:00 am and the Heart of the North in Mercer.  We will be going over all of the rules, establish the poker run businesses, set up the 50/50 raffle tickets, talk about the parade & mud pit.  We have some new ideas for the poker run that will include a new process.  Businesses interested in becoming part of the poker run must attend this Mandatory meeting.

 

Any Hurley or Mercer Area Chamber members are also welcome to include an event on Calendar for the Weekend.  Please fill out the attached event form and return to either chamber office by April 5, 2012.

Spring will be here before we know it and it is time to clean-up all that extra Stuff!  Your junk may be someone else's TREASURE!  The event is sponsored by the Hurley Area Chamber of Commerce.  There is no cost to participate.  Deadline to register is 5 pm, Wednesday, May 2, 2012.  You can either drop off your registration form at the Chamber office Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm or Register online today.

  
Maps will be printed with all sites and sale items listed and will be available Friday, May 4th at the following locations:  Cary Mine Convenience, Dairy Queen, Bonshell Cafe, Citgo, Rays Mobil, Giovanoni's, Sharon's Coffee Co,  Days Inn, Midland, Town & Country, Super One Foods, Sharon's Coffee Company, Sidekick's in Iron Belt and the Hurley Chamber Office

 

2012 Yearly Events Poster

  

The Chamber Office has taken the initiative to make posters of all of the events in 2012.  Please stop by the chamber office to get a few copies for you business.  Suggestions would be to place in the inside doors of your bathrooms and within sitting areas of the business. 

 

Just a reminder that all members are welcome to attend the regular monthly meetings of the Chamber Board of Directors.  Meetings are held every third Wednesday of the month , at 4:30 pm at the Chamber Office.
