State Required Student Health Screenings

September 18, 2023 - September 22, 2023

Chapter 36 of the Health and Safety Code, Vision and Hearing Screening Program under the Department of State Health Services requires the following student health screenings:

Vision & Hearing: Required for students in Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 3, Grade 5, and Grade 7, as well as any student new to Imagine International Academy of North Texas this school year. ·If your student wears corrective lenses, please ensure that they are wearing them for the screening.

Acanthosis Nigricans: Required for students in Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 3, Grade 5, and Grade 7. For more information click here.

These screenings will be conducted on campus from September 18, 2023 to September 22, 2023. Additional days may be utilized in order to ensure that all required students are screened. Parents/guardians will only be notified of results that require further evaluation.

From the Nurse: Illness & Weather Protocols

COVID-19 & Illness Protocols:

Per the Imagine Student/Family Handbook: When a student’s absence for personal illness exceeds three (3) consecutive days, the student will be required to present a statement from a physician or health clinic verifying the illness or other condition causing the student’s extended absence from school. If the student has established a questionable pattern of absences, the school may require a physician or clinic’s statement of illness after a single day’s absence. This procedure will be used as a condition for classifying the absence as excused or as one for which extenuating circumstances exist. Both the campus nurse and attendance department must be made aware via email.

  • Nurse@imaginenorthtexas.org
  • Attendance@imaginenorthtexas.org

For specific Covid-19 and illness re-entry requirements please refer to the Programme FAQ's listed at the top of the newsletter.

If your student tests positive for Covid-19, you must still notify the nurse, and the attendance department. The positive test result must be submitted. Student must be fever, diarrhea, vomit free for 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to campus after any illness. Other symptoms should also be greatly improved.

Weather / High Temperatures

Students should make every effort to increase their water intake and refrain from wearing their fleece jackets when outdoors in high temperatures, due to the risk of overheating. Please partner with us and discuss the importance of these precautions with your children.

With gratitude,

Nurse Henna
