Spring Art Fest is Coming!

Neighborhood Artists and Makers,

Do you have an interesting art or craft-making talent? Come share it with your neighbors at CHCA's Spring Art Fest on Sunday, April 27.

We welcome all neighborhood artists and makers who would like to showcase a skill or sell items they have made.

Sales are optional - you can simply set up a table to show off something you have made, demonstrate how to do it , or provide tips and advice to curious neighbors.

For those interested in selling, this is a great opportunity since the Fest is only two weeks before Mother’s Day!

If you are interested in setting up a table of booth, please contact Nancy Fox Ciliax by email: nfoxciliax@gmail.com .

High School Senior in your Household? Banner Time

The CHCA Board is looking for high school seniors for our annual neighborhood banner celebrating graduation. We have a growing list, and we want to honor ALL SENIORS for their accomplishment. If your family has a graduating senior, please let us know by email:

ClairmontHeightsCA@gmail.com

Would you like a great photograph of your student posing by the banner? Drag them to our upcoming Spring Art Fest!

Whether they are in cap and gown, college shirt, or comfortable attire of their choice, we hope to get all graduates for the group photo. Hopefully, this will become a longtime neighborhood tradition.

PreK Lottery

Application Window and Lottery Drawing for the 2025-2026 School Year

The DeKalb School District's Department of Early Learning and Pre-K Programs is excited to announce its Pre-K (3&4) application and lottery for all elementary schools, Coralwood Center, the Early Learning Center, and 10 Pre-K3 expansion sites for the 2025-2026 school year.

This year's lottery 2026 will be online. The application window opens on March 3rd and closes at 11:59pm on March 21st. The lottery and waitlist drawing will take place on Friday, March 28th.

Parents need to supply a LONG list of required documents. You may prepare by reviewing the requirements on the district website:

Parents may wish to take advantage of a virtual Application Support Session that will take place on February 25, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

Participants will learn how to upload documents to the District's Mint platform and see how to accept or decline a seat and/or waitlist position after the lottery.

This session requires registration: REGISTER for Online Support Session

It is important to note that submitting an application does not guarantee a spot for your child, as positions are limited. Furthermore, the DeKalb District’s participation in the "Bright from the Start Lottery" Pre-K Program for 2025-2026 is contingent upon receipt of adequate state and local funding and approval by the DeKalb County School District.
