Sports Day in Japan

October 14 is the Japanese national holiday of Sports Day. It is celebrated the second Monday of October every year. Commemorating the opening of the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, schools hold their field days and communities host sporting events and festivals promoting healthy minds and bodies.
