Updates from Jefferson City Public Schools
Three JCHS Students Chosen as
National Merit Semifinalists
Jefferson City High School has announced that Elijah Hilty, Katie Vogel and Nicholas Erickson have been recognized as National Merit Semifinalists. The 16,000 semifinalists in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program were designated from some 1.6 million program entrants in over 22,000 high schools nationwide. Representing less than one percent of each state's high school seniors, semifinalists are the highest scoring program entrants in each state, and they are the only participants to have an opportunity to continue in the competition for Merit Scholarships to be offered next spring.  Go here to read more about these students.
2018 JCPS Foundation Gala:
Daring to Dream
The  2018 Foundation Gala  was a night of "Daring to Dream." This year's Gala was one to be remembered as the Foundation recognized and was honored to induct a new class into the Hall of Leaders Program. The JCPS Foundation is forever grateful for the overwhelming amount of support that is shown at this event each year.  In fact, this year's event was recognized as the largest in attendance and in funds raised. Together we are all daring to dream that we can give all students in our district hope for a brighter tomorrow. CONGRATULATIONS to the honorees & THANK YOU to the sponsors! #JCStrongerTogether
Jefferson City Host Lions Club Donates Vests for Safety Patrol
The Jefferson City Host Lions Club donated 106 new vests for the Safety Patrol to help ensure the safety of children arriving to and leaving from school. Host Lions Club members and Larry Linthacum were on hand to make the presentation to JCPD Officer Les Martin, West Elementary Principal Heather Beaulieu, and two safety patrol students. We appreciate their support of this important program!
Attendance Matters!

Chronic absenteeism directly impacts literacy development. Missing just a day or two every month can make it harder to learn to read by the third grade. #JCReads
