Updates from Jefferson City Public Schools
2019-2020 Draft Calendar
The 2019-2020 calendar was presented to the Board of Education for a first-reading at their October 8, 2018 meeting. A second-reading and final vote of the proposed calendar will take place at the November 12, 2018 Board of Education meeting.

October Difference Makers
Difference makers are those who go above and beyond to serve our students, staff and schools. The following Difference Makers were recognized at the October Board of Education meeting:

  • LEARNING: Stacey Gregory-Angell for going above and beyond in her efforts to fulfill our district's goal to improve the reading levels of our students.
  • PARTNERSHIPS: First Baptist Church for providing daily volunteers at South School to direct morning traffic.
  • STEWARDSHIP: Justin Reynolds, Callaway Hills PE Teacher for helping transform Callaway Hills into a healthy community and always going above and beyond to help students and staff.

JCPS Board of Education Update
The Jefferson City Board of Education held its monthly meeting on Monday, October 8, 2018. The  agenda   included:
  • An update from BOE members on the recent MSBA Conference.
  • First read of the 2019-2020 calendar.
  • Discussion of a revised stipend schedule for the activities department.
  • A staffing report from Shelby Scarbrough, Director of Human Resources.
Mallory McGowin Chosen by National School Public Relations Association for 35 Under 35
Please join the JCPS Communications Department in congratulating Mallory McGowin for being chosen by NSPRA (the National School Public Relations Association) as a member of their 2018-2019 Class of 35 Under 35. Per NSPRA, "This group of emerging leaders is proving that strategic communication is tireless, extending easily to our next generation of school public relations professionals." Congratulations, Mallory!!
