Dear Jeffco Public Schools Families & Community,

As the holidays approach, it is a good time to recognize all of the hard work that has gone into this school year so far. I know staff and students have expended a tremendous amount of energy and there can often be a sense of weariness in these last few days leading up to break. Because of that, the holidays come at a good time each year as they are an opportunity for everyone to reset and refresh, looking forward to an engaging 2020.

This holiday break, I encourage everyone to take time to reconnect with family and to invest in those relationships. This is especially true with our young people. Although the days seem hectic, they do go by quickly. Find ways to create meaningful and lasting positive memories with the children and young people in your life.

Over the break, you might also take the time to complete EnrollJeffco. Whether you are enrolling a new student in their neighborhood school, confirming re-enrollment in the same school, or applying for choice enrollment - EnrollJeffco is your one-stop shop to share your plans for next school year.

On behalf of all of us with Jeffco Public Schools, we wish you and your family a restful and peaceful holiday season!
Dr. Jason Glass
Superintendent & Chief Learner

The first enrollment window for the 2020-21 school year is now open through January 15, 2020. Jeffco Public Schools offers an online enrollment system - EnrollJeffco - that streamlines finding school information and the enrollment process, and ensures the same timeline for all schools.

As part of the EnrollJeffco platform, you can use School Finder to identify your neighborhood school and learn about other schools and programs. Search schools by name, neighborhood, programs offered, before-and-after school programs, and many other features our schools offer.
If you are new to Jeffco Public Schools or EnrollJeffco, you can find help with navigating the enrollment process online, by calling your current or potential school, or by calling the EnrollJeffco help line.

You can also watch this video on how to EnrollJeffco in Three Easy Steps.
Several schools in the district are making changes for the upcoming 2020-21 school year, such as Vivian Elementary’s transition to a New Classical Academy, IB programs at Summit Ridge Middle School and Rose Stein Elementary, Doral Academy’s expansion to K-10, and others. Discover what is changing at your local Jeffco school.
If your child is starting school this coming fall, Jeffco Public Schools offers free full-day kindergarten at over 90 elementary schools and several preschool options for three- and four-year-olds at 55 schools throughout the district.

Preschool programming includes core instruction, services for English language learners, social-emotional needs, and special education. Other options include programming that aligns with International Baccalaureate, Expeditionary Learning, and dual language instruction.

Information, timelines, and required documentation for kindergarten enrollment can be found on our website.
Superintendent Dr. Jason Glass discusses EnrollJeffco with Shannon Fitzgerald, Director of Enrollment Services, during a Facebook Live broadcast.
Be sure to check out what programs and services are offered at your local neighborhood school with our School Finder tool. You can also call your local school or browse their website for more information about programs and open house events to learn more.
The 2018 voter-approved Jeffco Public Schools bond was passed a little over a year ago and since then, the district has been busy at work. A big year for Jeffco, almost $90 million has been invested in construction, design, and school improvements.

2019 In Review

  • 11 high schools completed the design process, started construction on existing facilities, or debuted new track-and-field improvements.
  • 5 middle schools started Design Advisory Group (DAG) meetings with community members, school staff, and architects or welcomed new track-and-field improvements.
  • Warren Tech, Jeffco's premier Career and Technical Education center, announced the location of a third campus on the Dakota Ridge High School property in Littleton, anticipated to open Fall, 2021.
  • 3 groundbreakings took place for two elementary schools and one K-8 school.
Since 2008, Jeffco Public Schools has administered an anonymous district-wide Family-School Partnership (FSP) survey to families. The FSP survey specifically gauges family input centered around six nationally recognized standards for family engagement:
  • welcoming all families into the school community
  • communicating effectively
  • supporting student success
  • speaking up for every child
  • sharing power
  • collaborating with community

Jeffco Public Schools is committed to ensuring that your family and school partnership experience is collaborative, successful, and helps your child learn and grow. We, in turn, use this data to examine enrollment trends, demographics, achievement scores, and other data points in order to better serve our communities' needs. All survey data results are posted on our website.

We welcome your feedback. The survey closes Thursday, January 2, so please take the time to complete the survey today. We appreciate your time and input!
