 My Path to Freedom

I used to be obsessed
with book sales at libraries.
They have fabulous books
for only 25 cents. I loved
books, especially informational
books, and never bought fiction.

In 2005, I was hypnotized
as a demo subject at my hypnosis convention by Dick Sutphen.

I had been following his work
since the mid 70's and was
THRILLED to finally meet him
and study with him. He hypnotized
me for clutter issues and I began
to immediately let go of tons of
stuff over the next year.

At the time, I lived in an
11 room farm house with
a huge barn - lots of room
to store 'stuff'. It was quite
an adventure to shed my
possessions.

When I moved from that house
in 2006, I donated hundreds
and hundreds of my books to
local libraries.

In 2007, while back visiting
a friend in the area, we stopped
at a local library that had an
ongoing, daily book sale.
I poked around, then lost track
of my friend and went outside
to wait for him. He came out
with his bag of books eventually
and asked where my bag was,
knowing I never left a book sale
empty-handed.

That's when I realized:
I hadn't bought a single book!

It was amazing to not have noticed
that such a huge shift had happened.

It was outside of my conscious awareness.

That habit had vanished without any effort
on my part!

I also became aware that 'the hook' -
which had had its claw in my belly for
many years - was gone. But... I hadn't
been aware of the hook, nor the fact that
it was gone, UNTIL the moment that
I realized I hadn't bought any books.

It was a seminal moment.

Such freedom!

I love the power of hypnosis!
