PANDEMIC NEWS

While in Wisconsin, individuals are now required to wear face coverings when indoors and not in a private residence, with some exceptions. Please send us any photos you have of employees or customers wearing face coverings that we can use in our marketing efforts!

As your business operations continue to change, please remember to keep us informed so we can keep our COVID-19 page at VisitKenosha.com updated.

If you are applying for COVID-19 Grant Funds or Loans and need acknowledgement letters, please let us know. Our team is happy to write letters on behalf of our partners to confirm your business status and contributions to our community.
2019 Annual Report
2019 ANNUAL REPORT

We work with more than 130 local hotels, restaurants, attractions, museums, and retail establishments that come together to represent the many unique experiences that bring visitors to our community year after year. We thank you for your partnership! Last year, visitor spending in Kenosha County was an estimated $239.7 million, up 5.23% over 2018. Read more about the economic impact of tourism in Kenosha County in our 2019 Annual Report here.
2020 Visitors Guide
REMINDER: THERE WILL BE NO 2021 VISITORS GUIDE

As we shared last month, we have decided NOT to print a 2021 edition of the Kenosha Area Visitors Guide due to the impact of COVID-19 on our Tourism Partners. Our current Partners will still be represented in the remaining copies of the 2020 Kenosha Area Visitors Guide which will continue to be distributed through 2021. You will still be represented on our website and through our social media channels. You will still have access to all your benefits and resources as a Tourism Partner. You will not be responsible to pay for an additional ad in 2021. Instead, at a later date, we will be asking each Tourism Partner to contribute $100 worth of gift certificates. If you have any questions, please contact Laura.
Jelly Belly Visitor Center
THANK YOU, JELLY BELLY

Jelly Belly Candy Company has been a long-time partner of the Kenosha Area Convention & Visitors Bureau – even before Jelly Belly Visitor Center opened in 2001. We are sad to see the center close. We will miss working with their supportive staff who were great ambassadors for the entire area. As a year-round free family activity near the Interstate, they certainly drew tourists to the area. Many special family memories were created there over the years. Their products, interactive indoor train experience, fun mascot Mr. Jelly Belly, annual carnival, and holiday events brought people in. You can still support them through their liquidation sale that’s going on now and online purchases. We thank Jelly Belly for the great memories!
Kenosha Public Market
WELCOME TO OUR TOURISM PARTNER FAMILY

Not even a pandemic can stop progress! We’ve gained new partners in recent months, including: The Down Town’R Saloon, Kenosha Public Market, and Beef Jerky Experience at Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets. El Camino Kitchen will soon be a partner. Also, the new Apis Hotel & Restaurant – which has already been our partner – is now open for dining.

PR UPDATE

The KACVB’s Meridith Jumisko continues to go on WLIP each Wednesday morning to promote events, activities, and partner news. On July 25, Meridith was a guest on the Travel Wisconsin radio show with host John Mercure on 620 WTMJ out of Milwaukee. The nearly eight-minute discussion centered around water activities, lodging, and outdoor dining. On August 3, Meridith also made a brief appearance on WGN Radio out of Chicago to promote Kenosha.
Mason's
KUDOS

Kudos to Mike Roscioli of Mason’s Eatery & Pub. After having trouble finding sanitizer products for his restaurant during this pandemic, he decided to purchase a Germinator Mobile Sanitizing and Disinfecting franchise with Mitch Contesco. Learn more in this Kenosha News article.

KACVB RECEIVES GRANT

The KACVB has received a $7,500 Tourist Information Center (TIC) Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. The grant may be used for staffing costs at our I-94 Visitor Information Center, costs to acquire promotional materials, and costs for standard display equipment such as racks or shelving.
Cindy, Kim, Beth
GOODBYE, FRIENDS

Here at the KACVB, we will greatly miss Cindy Fredericksen and Kim Dary. Both passed away in July. Cindy was a community blogger and photographer for the KACVB. She had a special connection to our old office space at 56th Street and Sheridan Road, as she worked for the Kenosha Police Department in that building. Among his many accomplishments, Kim Dary was a dedicated volunteer at Lemon Street Gallery, where his wife Beth is the director. We will miss Kim visiting our office every few months to swap out our art exhibit as part of Lemon Street’s ArtCorp Program. Our condolences to the families of Cindy and Kim!
