State Transportation Budget

Transportation Cabinet officials are laying out their 6 year, $6 billion budget which emphasizes improving safety and relieving congestion. There is concern among legislators that long-term financial planning may not adequately account for issues like the reduced revenue due to electric vehicles and the increasing need to maintain aging bridges. Secretary Hancock responded that every state is facing similar challenges.  "The key with us is investing wisely. Making sure that the investments we do make are the most important ones to make and that will carry us as far as it will." The transportation budget is expected to pass near the end of the current session of the Kentucky General Assembly along with consideration of the executive budget for the rest of state government.
The World's Best Cycling Infrastructure

This week's best bicycle architecture is located in the Netherlands, and is a bridge that includes bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. Thanks to Charles Schaub for passing these along!
