In engineering education, several issues need to be addressed in order to improve the education of engineers and to recruit more people to the field of engineering. Outreach is one way to address these issues. This paper looks into several methods and ways to conduct outreach. Since, outreach by engineers in the public and private sector is needed to help introduce students to engineering and plant the seeds for future engineers. This paper also looks into the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's outreach program, Kentucky Engineering Exposure Network (KEEN), to show how it conducts outreach.
