The Changing Face of Transportation

This past Wednesday was Veterans Day.  So Happy belated Veterans Day.  A big Thank You to all Veterans . Your dedication and service is greatly appreciated!
KYSITE just held our Annual Meeting and Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  That means things are slowing down around KYSITE.  However, it is important we re-cap the events of the past week or so.  Therefore, please take a look at these next few articles.
As many of you know, Louisville Metro is underway with numerous initiatives to improve safety for all of our operations groups, service providers as well as a focus on pedestrian safety throughout our community.  With that being said, the University of Louisville Basketball tema has their own new safety campaign as follows:

Have a Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you all have a safe
and joyous holiday with family and friends. We at KYSITE appreciate all you do to make our organization great!

Beshear announces grants for rail projects

Kentucky grants totaling more than $3  million for railroad projects across the commonwealth were  announced Monday by Gov. Steve Beshear.
The projects include public safety improvements to at-grade crossings, railroad bridge overpasses and u pgrades of crossing warning signals, lights, signs and barriers.
"Freight railroads are indispensable to our economy and our transportation system," Beshear said.  "Freight rail companies, including the 12 short lines that operate in Kentucky, contribute hundreds of millions of dollars to our economy each year in the form of wages and benefits....  They also provide business, industry and agriculture with a market connection that is safe, efficient and environmentally sound."
The assistance grants, totaling just over $3 million, were provided by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
