UK ITE Meeting

The school year is well underway and the UK chapter of ITE has set themselves up for a great year!

UK ITE will have monthly meetings and it is a goal of KYSITE to have a group of professionals included in those meetings.

If anyone would like to volunteer to attend a monthly meeting (typically during lunchtime) or if there is a private entity that would like to sponsor lunch for the UK meeting p lease email our UK liaison, Erin Lammers at  erin.lammers@uky.edu .

Transportation in the News

Kentucky Awarded $59.5 Million in Competitive Federal Funds to Improve Infrastructure

The Calloway County Fiscal Court, Pulaski County Fiscal Court and Owensboro Riverport Authority are the recipients of competitive Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) federal grants totaling $59.5 million to fund projects that improve safety, access and mobility for motorists and freight movement in Kentucky. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet committed more than one-half of the combined project costs and submitted letters of support to the U.S. Department of Transportation to advocate for these needed infrastructure improvements within the state.
I-69 Ohio River Crossing Draft Environmental Impact Statement Released

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) have identified the Central Alternative as the preferred route for the proposed I-69 Ohio River Crossing (I-69 ORX). The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) was released today identifying preferred alternatives with different tolling options. Central Alternative 1A would toll both the I-69 bridge and the remaining US 41 bridge. Central Alternative 1B would toll only the I-69 bridge.
Place Making Projects

Place-making projects don't have to be limited just to summer or to places with good weather. This collection of pop-up stores attracts holiday shoppers and sight-seers to Bryant Park in NYC. It provides an alternative pedestrian system through the park (instead of around it), helps local businesses, and creates a sense of community.

Thanks for your continued support of KYSITE!
