As work from home moves into its 4th month for many of us, I wanted to extend my sincere hope that you all remain reasonably happy, healthy, and sane. While the previous months have seen me binge Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, and this short YouTube series about a guy trying to walk in a straight line across Wales (absolutely worth watching), July and August will see KYSITE and ITE International hosting virtual conferences with tons of quality technical content. ITE International in New Orleans Going Virtual The ITE International meeting will be held over the span of three weeks virtually in August and will include many PDH’s for $199. Register here by July 1 st for $199. There is also a Young Member Scholarship for the ITE International meeting. It does not count towards the scholarship in the future. House's $1.5T Infrastructure Package & Surface Reauthorization

Last week, House Speaker Pelosi and the Democratic leadership unveiled its $1.5 trillion infrastructure package entitled the Move Forward Act (HR 2). This comprehensive bill includes not only the Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) Committee’s INVEST in America Act that was marked up and passed on June 18 to reauthorize highway, highway safety, transit, and rail programs, but also covers a whole host of additional infrastructure asset classes including broadband, schools, hospitals, clean water, and the postal service. Once the House Rules Committee considers which of the 350-plus filed amendments would be offered and sets the rules of debate later today, the full package will be considered on the House floor as early as tomorrow for passage by later this week prior to the July 4 th recess. Fact Sheet Section by Section 2,309 page bill text AASHTO will continue to urge Congress to engage in bipartisan cooperation  on surface reauthorization legislation in the coming weeks and months so that reauthorization can be completed prior to expiration of the FAST Act on September 30th.

LFUCG Job Opening

KYSITE Events

The KYSITE Scholarship Golf Outing has been postponed to the Fall, probably in September at Weissinger Hills in Shelbyville. Keep a look out for more details coming soon! We still plan on having our annual meeting this November. More details on the meeting will be sent out in future newsletters, but we hope you can make it this year!

If you've been to any of our recent KYSITE meetings, you've heard us talk about the upcoming 2022 SDITE meeting that we will be hosting here in Louisville, KY. While we are still 2 years out, it takes this much time to plan these meetings. Committees will soon be forming to tackle this undertaking. In the meantime, consider your strengths and how you can help our section put together the best meeting possible.
