THE TRANSFORMATION CONTINUES!
With our enrollment rising, our halls becoming too crowded, and available classrooms a scarce commodity we celebrated the opening of our East Campus - a 3 million dollar project sponsored by the Diamond Foundation that added four more classrooms, a teacher workroom, student changing rooms, an Athletics office, and storage.
East Campus has made a world of difference to our students and our programs. The Diamond Foundation took this one step further this summer. With our eventual move to be part of JWest, they want to support King David staying a school of choice, while not using community donations and resources to do so.
Please see the exciting changes that include a protective fence beside East Campus, a fully resurfaced, painted, and Lion Branded, sports court, and a major landscape project to convert outdoor space into useable space for students, complete with furniture and safety upgrades.
| |
We are so grateful to the community for their support allowing us to fill our space and provide tuition and program assistance - we do what we do because of your support. We also thank the Diamond Foundation for their belief in King David, Jewish Education, and the entire community.

CO-CURRICULAR OPPORTUNITIES: CLUBS FAIR
This week, we hosted a lunchtime Club Fair so students could see the opportunities in which they can get involved. Some examples are Drama Club, Star Wars Club, Social Justice Club, Creative Writing, Robotics, Chesed Club, Minyan and Munch, Reach for the Top, and many others. Joining a club allows students to meet students from all grades, feel included, have something to do and get involved with an activity that makes them happy. All activities help to create community for students.
A NOVEL WAY TO SUPPORT KING DAVID!
Over the years, alumni parent, Lori Satov has been compiling the many notes excusing the Kraft boys, (Benjy, Class of 2021 and Oliver, Class of 2023) from school for dental and other appointments. These notes, written by their dad, Rob Kraft, are no ordinary notes. With the help of the wonderfully talented Moira Laidlaw, Lori and Rob have created a book that memorializes these absence notes for posterity.
The book is now available and costs $15 (CAD) + tax.

All net proceeds raised from the sale of this book will go to Operation Smile Canada, an organization that delivers free corrective surgery to children around the world who are born with a cleft lip or palate.
In addition, Rob and Lori will be matching this amount with a donation to King David High School.
Kol Ha'Kavod Kraft Family and thank you for your years of support. Know that your notes are missed!

ARTONA: CAPTURING SCHOOL PHOTOS
School photo day helps to capture the special moments that represent the year, whether it's braces, or a different haircut... the Artona photographers captured the unique personalities of students. We worked closely with the photographer to ensure a smooth photo day with minimal disruption in classes.

Our alumni embody King David's mission of developing effective leaders who now play important roles in both the local and global communities.
We are so proud of Tia Sacks, Class of 2019, who had an article published in The Globe and Mail, "The Holocaust shouldn’t be the only thing schools teach about the Jewish community". You can read it here.
