STRIKING THE RIGHT CHORD!
This term in the music elective has been an incredible journey of growth and creativity! Students from Grades 8 and 9 have honed their skills across various instruments, including guitar, drums, and keyboard, while also developing their vocal abilities.
Through collaboration and practice, they’ve gained confidence in performance, learned new techniques, and explored a wide range of musical styles. Whether mastering chords, perfecting rhythms, or harmonizing as a group, the progress has been inspiring to witness.
We’re proud of the hard work and passion our students have shown and look forward to seeing their continued musical growth! 🎶

CANADIAN SENIOR MATHEMATICS CHALLENGE
Last week, Grade 11 and 12 students participated in the Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest, organized by the University of Waterloo's Centre for Education in Math and Computing (CEMC). This prestigious contest encourages students to tackle challenging math problems, enhancing their problem-solving skills through a mix of short-answer and full-solution questions.
More math contests, open to all grades, are scheduled for the new year. Good luck to all who took part in this exciting challenge!

A CREATIVE CHALLENGE IN PROBABILITY
The students had to design games of chance for a hypothetical fundraiser we had in teacher Sam Best's math class. Their goal was to make a game that would be fun to play, but also raise money as their peers played their game. The students had to use principles of probability, expectation value and fractions along with their creativity to create these games.
DEVELOPING NEW SKILLS: GOLF AND ICE SKATING
Grade 10 Physical Health Education students had an opportunity to try their hand at golf during a trip to the Musqueam Driving Range. With some guidance, they focused on proper grip techniques and began to develop confidence in their swings. The experience offered a perfect mix of skill-building and fun, giving students a new appreciation for the game.
Grade 9 boys' enjoyed a fun-filled trip to Sunset Rink for an ice skating adventure. The rink was alive with laughter and camaraderie as students glided across the ice, making memories together. The outing was even more special as three students from VHA joined us and will now be part of our Physical Education classes moving forward, adding to the excitement and inclusivity of the day.
STOCK CLUB: DIVING INTO THE WORLD OF FINANCE!
Our Stock Club invites students to explore the dynamic and ever-changing world of finance! Combining insightful discussions, savvy stock picks, and interactive activities, the club meets every Wednesday at lunch to foster financial curiosity and build essential literacy skills.
Led by Levi M., Grade 11, with support from Judaic Studies teacher Avi Bar, the club provides a collaborative space to analyze market trends, discuss investment strategies, and gain practical knowledge for the future. Whether you're an aspiring investor, intrigued by market dynamics, or simply eager to learn, the Stock Club offers something for everyone.

STANDING TOGETHER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Last Sunday's rally was truly inspiring as we united to demand the return of the 101 hostages and commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
A huge round of applause to Eliana R., Grade 10, for her passionate and powerful speech—she was absolutely phenomenal!
Sunday also felt like a true King David family affair! Rabbi Carey Brown (mom of Yael and Jonah) delivered a heartfelt speech, while Ellen Wiesenthal (mom of Maayan and Maytal) added a beautiful touch with her guitar music. The audience was filled with King David staff, students, parents, and extended family members, all showing their support.
Let’s keep standing together to make a difference!
