When we wake up in the morning, one of the first prayers Jews traditionally say is the Modeh Ani prayer.
"Modeh ani lefanecha... shehechezarta bi nishmati b’chemlah, rabah emunatecha."
"I offer thanks before You... for You have mercifully restored my soul within me;
great is Your faithfulness."
Every day is meant to begin with gratitude and appreciation.
I have always appreciated that mindset, and it is one that I would like to express now. King David is a remarkable school and community. I feel so lucky, appreciative, and privileged to work at such a special place. My year has been filled with an immense sense of gratitude.
Thank you to our students. Thank you to our families. Thank you to our community members. Thank you to our donors. Thank you to our hard-working, dynamic, and inspiring staff. It has been an incredible year, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
The year was filled with more highlights than can be recounted in a letter. Here are a few: We have graduates moving on to exciting programs next year. Our students engaged in hours upon hours of community service. The learning that took place in the classrooms was beyond impressive. Our teachers engaged in professional development throughout the year. We have new banners in the atrium due to our exciting accomplishments in sports. We put on a musical. Performed in concerts. Led a rally for Israel. Engaged in science experiments. Asked thought-provoking questions during our “Ask the Rabbi” sessions. Celebrated Jewish holidays. Cooked meals for dozens of guests. Created masterful works of art. Spoke in many different languages. The list goes on and on.
