Our Senior Girls Soccer team proudly represented King David and the Jewish community at the 2025 BC School Sports Single "A" Girls Soccer Provincial Championships in Duncan, BC. Our journey to provincials was a testament to the team's resilience and determination. Throughout the regular season, we competed in a league filled with larger schools, facing some very tough games that tested our abilities and spirit. These challenges pushed us to grow tremendously as a team, preparing us for our remarkable playoff run.
Throughout the season, there was a strong rotation of players, with many contributing to the team's culture and success both on and off the field. Ultimately, the team finished eighth out of sixteen teams, a tremendous accomplishment that reflects their hard work, unity, and sportsmanship.
Thank you to our coaches, Cale McDonald, Marie Vondracek, and assistant coach Max Forman, for their outstanding leadership and support. Thank you as well to Esther Mogyoros, who ensured our team’s kosher food needs were met and provided care throughout the trip, and to David Amram for handling all logistics and accommodations. A special thank you to Matt Dichter for his incredible support all year.
Mazal tov to all the players who contributed this season!

| MASTERING THE ART OF TITRATION | Over the past few weeks, the Chemistry 11 students put their lab skills to the test by performing titrations, an analytical technique used to determine the concentration of an unknown solution. With precision and patience, students carefully added one solution to another until they reached the reaction endpoint, indicated by a pink colour change. It was a hands-on opportunity to apply concepts from class, use specialized laboratory equipment and techniques, and experience the excitement of real-world chemistry in action! | JEWISH LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL | As part of their journey toward graduation, the Class of 2025 had the opportunity to visit Hillel and Chabad at UBC. With university life just around the corner, the students learned about the role Hillel and Chabad play on campuses across the world, offering Jewish students a welcoming and supportive community, and a place where Jewish students can celebrate holidays, engage in Jewish learning and stay connected to their identity. No matter where life takes them after King David, they will always find a place to stay rooted in who they are. Thank you, Hillel and Chabad UBC, for hosting our Class of 2025!. |
It was an amazing experience to welcome École Jules Verne (a multi-cultural school), a Baha’i group, and Gobind Sarvar (a Sikh school) to King David for our first-ever Inter-Faith, Inter-Culture program. Being able to interact and connect with teenagers from multiple different ethnic groups in a safe space was fascinating to me, as I got to build a real understanding of their religion, culture, and faith through meaningful conversations. One thing that particularly stood out to me was the similarity between Sikhism and Judaism. Both religions emphasize doing good in the world without expecting anything in return, as well as respecting our neighbours, as we are all interconnected. It was nice to have broken the preconceived barriers and built bridges between our communities.

For our final project in Hebrew 9, we paired up to create a conversation debating whether summer or winter is better. We had to support our opinions with examples, like seasonal activities, clothing, and food. While writing, we built our Hebrew vocabulary and worked on improving our sentence structure. To bring it all together, we designed a poster in the shape of a cellphone that looked like a real text conversation!

We are thrilled to share that our 20-year celebration raised $150,000 this year! We could not have done it without our amazing community who came together to support such an important cause.
Thank you to all of our staff and volunteers who worked so hard to make this evening such a success. We can't wait for next year's event.
