Parashat Bamidbar

In preparation for Shavuot, the holiday that celebrates the giving of the Torah, we welcomed an incredible group of community Rabbis and educators to lead a series of thought-provoking and inspiring learning sessions for our students.

From exploring Jewish identity and leadership to diving into topics like Zionism, Kashrut, and personal accountability, each session offered our students a meaningful opportunity to connect with Torah in a relevant and powerful way.

A heartfelt thank you to Rabbi Brown, Rabbi Infeld, Rabbi Labowitz, Rabbi Rosenblatt, Rabbi Tendler, Jeff Bailin, and Noam Fogel, who joined us and shared their wisdom and time. Your presence helped bring the spirit and meaning of Shavuot alive in our school community.

CELEBRATING STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT

On Wednesday, our community came together for Celebration 5785, King David’s annual Year-End Celebration, recognizing the accomplishments of our incredible students.

The Atrium buzzed with excitement as parents, students, and staff gathered to reflect on a fantastic year. Awards were presented across all grades and disciplines, celebrating not only academic excellence but also effort, growth, and positive impact.

The evening began with a lively pre-show concert by our Grade 9 musicians, followed by inspiring performances from students in Grades 10 to 12. Creativity filled the halls, and our Senior Foods students delighted guests with delicious treats that reflected their hard work and learning.

We are so proud of our students' dedication and achievements, and deeply grateful to the outstanding teachers and support staff who make moments like this possible.

SHOWCASING LEARNING AND VISION

Seniors at King David High School wrapped up their year-long learning journey by presenting their Capstone Projects, a culmination of their academic exploration and personal growth. These projects reflected months of independent research and hands-on experience, as students delved into topics aligned with their future academic, professional, or personal goals. Guided and supported by teachers Amanda Cameron and Cale McDonald, the students showcased their work to an audience of educators and peers. More than 40 seniors from the Class of 2025 presented their efforts with confidence and pride, reflecting their hard work and ambitious aspirations.

BUILDING BETTER BOTS

The Grade 9 Robotics class is in the middle of a three-day sprint as they prepare for their second MouseBot competition. Their goal: to build small, agile robots capable of climbing the ramp in the corner while pushing balls or cubes. Drawing on lessons learned from their first competition, students are now focused on refining their designs and improving their performance.

SAY GOODBYE TO MR. MO AND JANICE LIKNAITZKY

Alex and Janice's impact on our students and our school has been profound and we invite you to join us as we honour them. Alex for 24 years and Janice for 11 years of inspiring and educating the youth in our community.

STUDENTS TAKE THE WIN!

In an energetic and fast-paced game of floor hockey, students faced off against staff in a spirited showdown that had the audience cheering. With sharp passes, quick footwork, and unstoppable teamwork, the students dominated the match and claimed a decisive victory. Despite the staff's best efforts (and a few dramatic saves), it was clear the students came to win and they did, in style!
