Southern Tier Brewing Company Pittsburgh -
Now Open!

The new Southern Tier Brewing brewpub has officially opened on the Pittsburgh North Shore! The brew pub has a full restaurant menu, thirty beers on tap, in-house brewing, and a small gift shop area by the front entrance.

Phase One of construction consisted of the interior fit-out, including the new restaurant and bar, kitchen, MEP systems, brewing equipment, and offices. Landau's craftsmanship brought the architect's vision together during the first phase. Rustic elements, like whiskey barrels, are a common design theme. The light fixtures over the booths, for example, are barrels flipped upside down, and the fixtures over the tables are barrels cut in half and splayed open for the unique design. Also, wooden slats from whiskey barrels were installed along the kitchen walls in a basket-weave pattern. A shadowb ox of the Southern Tier logo was installed along the back wall, illuminated by remote-control rop e lighting inside the framing. The steel was chemically aged to match the rustic aesthetic.

The next phase of construction is the outdoor beer garden. Check out our website and  Facebook page for project updates!

MBA Construction Industry Evening of Excellence
Excellence in Craftsmanship-Interior Construction Award
WINNER!

Every year, the MBA hosts the Construction Industry Evening of Excellence,a night where members of our industry come together to celebrate all of the hard work completed throughout the past year. As part of the celebration, the 2016 Building Excellence Awards are presented in the categories of craftsmanship, new construction, and renovation construction. This year our project at the Allegheny Country Club won for Excellence in Craftsmanship-Interior Construction!

We could not be more proud of this accomplishment and of everyone on the project team. This was an intricate renovation, with new challenges encountered daily. The basement of the main clubhouse was transformed and now includes a new fitness area, Pro Shop, repair area, beautiful wine tasting room, wine storage, and a new staircase. The goal was to update the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing and create updated spaces while maintaining the original 1902 character of the building.

Thank you to everyone at Allegheny Country Club and Perspectus Architecture for your input, designs, and patience throughout this process. A special thank you to Wayne Crouse, Renick Brothers, Sargent Electric, Superintendent Wayne Rabbitt, and Lead Superintendent Emory Lukacs, all of whom went above and beyond for this project.
