Welcome to the winter edition of LBFE Boston’s e-newsletter. Since we last touched base, our intergenerational social and tech access/skills programs are now in full swing till late spring, we have welcomed many new staff members, LBFE has once again been awarded a national recognition for its CitySites programming, and much more! Together, with older adults, younger people, LBFE staff, community partners, and YOU, we're building a more age-friendly, socially connected Boston!

LBFE Boston's CitySites Program of Distinction Status Renewed for 2025
We are proud to announce that our CitySites program has met the criteria to maintain its designation as an intergenerational Program of Distinction by Generations United. This recognition serves as the U.S. benchmark for intergenerational programs and is based on the criteria that underpin the effectiveness of high-quality intergenerational programs. Love Your Wicked Awesome Neighbor Challenge - On the weeks leading up to and on Valentine's Day, LBFE Boston joined fellow nonprofit Everyday Boston supporting their 7th annual “Love Your Wicked Awesome Neighbor” Challenge #LYWAN!
LBFE's older adult & younger program participants helped contribute to making the Valentine's cards that were given out to more than 11,000 people to spread kindness across Boston on that day!

Holiday Celebrations
In December, the LBFE Boston team, volunteers, and older friends came together for a festive holiday luncheon filled with conversation, delicious food, trivia, and connection!

Bricen Boudreault joined LBFE Boston in January of 2025 as a CitySites Program Manager. He graduated with degrees in both psychology and political science from Suffolk University and prior to this position, has been working within the nonprofit field for about three years. | |
Madison Amaral also joined the LBFE Boston team in January of 2025 as a CitySites Program Manager. Madi graduated from Suffolk University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a minor in Youth and Community Studies. | |
Sofia Gillespie also joined LBFE Boston in January 2025, while also working as a teaching fellow at the Boston Outdoor Preschool Network (BOPN). Sofia graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in Psychology with minors in Hispanic Studies and Studio Arts. | |
