Hello,
While I hope you'll read the newsletter every week, I especially hope that you'll check it out this week as there are lots of different events coming up (the online sign up for winter nights is down below) as well as a few changes.
I look forward to starting our weekly bible study group based around scripture segmented within the book "The Bible Year". We'll begin this coming Sunday and I hope that if you wish to participate, you'll try to read Days 1-4 before Sunday. If you don't yet have the book, we have PLENTY in the office, so please call (925) 284-4765 or come by during Sarah Jayne's office hours.
I am currently changing my office hours and appreciate your patience as I figure out how best to adjust them. In the meantime, you are always welcome to contact me to make an appointment.

In whatever way you do it, I encourage you to pray this week for our church family, our community, and our world. For these prayers and for this journey of prayer, let us all say, "O Lord, hear our prayers!"
We lift up prayers for the world:
- Gratitude for all of our many blessings.
- Joy over each beautiful and blessed day.
- For all those who have lost loved ones.
- For all the ways in which communities are harmed by violence, natural disasters, climate changes and things that threaten neighbors' love for one another.
- For all those who are traveling.
- For all those experiencing homelessness, most especially during such extreme weather.
We lift up prayers for our community:
- For Betty Dreyer, as she underwent surgery today. Prayers of thanksgiving for it going well and prayers of comfort for her during her recovery.
- For Cameron Sanders, as he has a new job interview.
- Gratitude for Bob Lewis' successful surgery and prayers for a smooth recovery.
- Bob and Holly Nickolls, friends of Diano Naldoza, who are in poor health.
- The recovery of Carol Sebastian's brother Fred Oppel, as well as a diagnosis for her niece's husband Bill Braddock.
- Leslie Murray's sister, Mary Ann, who is hospitalized and awaiting the implant of a pacemaker.
- Gratitude for Mark L.'s (not Mark Logan) recovery and return home.
- Winston Van Winegarden, Jeff Sawdon, The Cooke Family, David Chow, Barbara Levander, Mary Henderson, Baby Wyatt, Stacy, Kevin Slimak, and Donna Walls.
