RealArts Summer Campers Wrap Up 'Heroic' Summer of Drama, Music and Visual Arts

Our RealArts Summer Campers enjoyed a magical summer at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House!  The theme this summer was "Heroes."  Each week the children explored a different variety of hero - superheroes, artistic heroes, everyday heroes and, most importantly, the heroes inside themselves.  They experienced a diverse array of drama, music, visual arts and swimming classes, along with farm-to-table meals, recreation and weekly field trips.  Some fun excursions included the Cooper Hewitt Museum, Victorian Gardens and a breathtaking musical performance at TADA! Youth Theater.

Dietetic Intern Supports Nutrition Education in Healthy Foods and Wellness Program

We welcomed Lauren Kremer, a dietetic intern from New York University's Nutrition and Food Studies Department, this summer to work with our Healthy Foods and Wellness program and The Teaching Kitchen at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House.  Lauren developed and implemented detailed lesson plans on nutrition for clients across our programming, including an in-depth discussion on the benefits of and implementation of an anti-inflammatory diet at o ur supportive housing residence, Casa Mutua.   Lauren also conducted one-on-one nutrition consultations with our Center members and provided The Teaching Kitchen with nutritional analysis and information.  We are so grateful to have had Lauren's fantastic support!
