You may have heard that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) earlier this year (April) approved the sale of genetic tests directly to consumers for determining their disease-risk. The test checks for certain genes that might increase the likelihood of developing various conditions, including Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. Fall has officially arrived, and with it, America's new favorite flavor:  pumpkin spice . Everywhere we go, pumpkin spice is the craze. Pumpkin spice is a combination of spices which usually includes cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and allspice. And while we can find many of our favorites now flavored with this autumn favorite, we should be wary of added sugars, trans fats and calories.
