Hello Students, Family and Friends,
Welcome back everyone! We have missed you all! We have finally been given the green light by the Governor, County, and the City to re-open the gym. However, there are guidelines for doing so. We are working very hard to protect the health and safety of our students, parents, and instructors. However, since there is still so much that is unknown about COVID-19 we will be following the guidelines set forth by the Cal/OSHA (California Department of Industrial Relations), and ask that you read and sign a COVID-19 waiver that will be provided when you drop off student on the first day back. Listed here are the adjustments regarding the following:
- Parents must read and sign the COVID-19 waver before student may participate. (I will provide this on the first day back)
- Social Distancing – Only 7 students or less will be permitted for each class. Please see the temporary class schedule.
- Students will be kept 6’ or more from one another during the entire class.
- Personal contact- there will be NO contact, (sparring, one-steps etc.).
- Drop off only- Parents/ spectators are not permitted to wait inside during class time.
- I will be at the front door to check student’s temperature via no touch temperature wand (if temp is above 98 they will be sent home).
- When dropping off student, please wait until their temperature has been taken before you leave.
- Only one student will be admitted in at a time.
- Students should arrive in full uniform (jacket & belt) to avoid gathering in the lobby.
- Masks will be provided for those who choose to wear them. They are recommended, but not required.
- Student will take their weapons home after each class and sanitize them before next class.
- One-Way traffic- Parents will pick up student at the back door. (Please pick up student promptly)
- Shared bathroom- To minimize the bathroom use, please have student use the bathroom at home before coming to class.
- Student will use the provided hand sanitizer before entering the mat.
- Bathroom, floors, doors, counter tops, etc., will be properly sanitized before and after classes.
- Equipment that will NOT be used: pool noodles (dragon beaters), ball for rolling, kick pads and all shared equipment.
- Remember: Student should bring their own water bottle.
- Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class time to allow for proper screening before entry. Once class begins, I will not stop and check a student in who is late, so please be prompt.
- Uniforms should be washed after each use.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Master Melodie Lopez-Hyland
