The Anton B. Urban Funeral Home of Ambler has provided compassionate and dignified professional service to families since 1950. They are active in numerous organizations, including the Rotary Club of Ambler, the Wissahickon Volunteer Fire Company, St. Anthony of Padua Church, St. Alphonsus Church, and Ambler Main Street. Most recently, the Urban Family sponsored and secured a $1,000 Matthews Children's Foundation Grant for Liz's Birthday Closet, a member of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County.
Liz's Birthday Closet was founded on the belief that all children deserve to feel special on their birthday, regardless of their circumstances. What sets them apart is their unique approach to providing personalized and memorable birthday experiences with presents, party supplies, cake kits, and essential items to underprivileged children who might otherwise go without.
Anton B. Urban Funeral Home is family-owned and operated. Meet the family: Peter "Skip" Urban, Supervisor, is a second-generation funeral director, a 50-year volunteer of Wissahickon Fire Company, and a board trustee for Ambler Savings Bank. Peter A. Urban Jr. is an Ambler Rotarian and an emerging leader as the Secretary/Treasurer of the International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR)- a prestigious professional association of independently owned funeral homes in North America that uphold the highest ethical and service standards. Dolores (Loftus) Urban, Office Manager, joined the family business after a 35-year nursing career. She actively supports the families and the community in their grief journey.
Following OGR's guiding principle, "Service measured not by gold, but by the Golden Rule," the Urban family remains dedicated to excellence in both service and community impact.
