Welcome!

To celebrate Father's Day, join dad on Saturday, June 19 for some fun.   The courtyards will be available from 2:00-4:00pm to eat a slice of pizza and enjoy time together.  In order to maintain COVID regulations a time block must be scheduled in advance by contacting Kelly at 706-364-8710 or kelly@madisonheightsevans.com. Spots will be filled on a first come first served basis.

Staying Connected

Great news! We are open for in-person visits if your loved one has had the vaccine and porch visits if your loved one did not receive the vaccine. Call the day ahead of your visit to schedule a time to meet with your loved one. Guidelines are still in effect and must be followed to ensure safety for you and the residents (See visitor consent pictured below.) In order to keep families informed, we have created a Facebook Group for you to stay updated and ask questions. You must first be a fan of our Facebook page to join the Families Group. Support Group

A support group led by a Madison Heights staff member meets the third Thursday of each month at 2:00. During this time, we are meeting via a video call. Though meeting virtually isn’t the ideal situation we will still be able to gain valuable information from each other and enjoy the community of friends.  All family members or caregivers of someone with a dementia diagnosis are welcome to attend. Don't forget to invite others who you think would benefit from additional support. Legacy Healthcare Services

Thank you Legacy Healthcare Services for gifting the Madison Heights ladies with succulents for Mother's Day.

Legacy Healthcare Services is a Specialized Rehabilitation Service that started a partnership with our community last year. Legacy specializes in dementia care and provides Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. Their staff work with residents 5 days a week for an hour per discipline to help to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. If you feel your loved one can benefit from Legacy's therapy services please contact Dawn.

We are grateful for these amazing volunteers from Grace Baptist Church who helped us with some gardening projects around the community.

Spring is Here!

As warmer months are here, it would be helpful if you would bring a hat and possibly sunglasses for your loved one. This will make gardening, outdoor concerts and rides around town on the bus more enjoyable for your loved one. Please make sure their hat has their name. Please take a moment to check in with your loved one's building to ensure they have an adequate amount of seasonal appropriate clothing that fit their current size. Our hairdresser, Pam, has returned. She visits every Tuesday. We invite you to share your experiences and your loved one's favorite recipes with our community in our Home is Where the Food is Program. Recipe sheets will be in the office of each building or you can send the recipe to Kelly.

Medical Information

Pharmacy Change We have moved to an all electronic pharmacy so we will now be using Guardian Pharmacy. Your loved one's medications won't be changing due to this change. If you have any questions please contact Dawn at 706-364-8715. Doctor Visits If you would like to switch to our in-house physician, Doctor Naseem, please see Billy to fill out a consent form.     Podiatry Visits Our podiatrist Dr. Kovalczyk is retiring. His last visit was in April. Dr. John Murrell will become our new podiatrist starting in June. You will need to fill out a new consent form for treatment. These were mailed with March invoices. If you have any questions reach out to Billy at 706-364-8713. Oral Hygiene It was recommended by a local dentist that many of our residents would have an easier time brushing their teeth using an electric toothbrush. He feels this could get more work done in a shorter amount of time which would make this experience easier for the residents. Please consider bringing an electric toothbrush for your loved one.

Congratulations to Cassey for being chosen as the Associate of the Month! Cassey was chosen as the Associate of the Month because she is punctual and reliable. She is flexible and adapts to change well. Cassey keeps the building clean and makes sure residents look their best. She has a positive attitude and puts smiles on the faces of our residents each day that she works.

Name: Jimmy Newsome Age: 73 About Jimmy: Jimmy worked as an industrial piper. He was always proud of a job well done due to quality workmanship. Jimmy enjoyed vegetable gardening, hunting and fishing. Jimmy loves to snack, be outside and spend time with those that he loves.
