Innovators in Rare Earth Elements and Critical Minerals Refining

February Highlights: Expansion, Execution and Engagement

Department of War recognition; greater capacity; March conferences

(Volume 2 - 2026 / Issue 2)

FISHERS, Ind. (Feb. 27, 2026)

February has been a multi-dimensional month, reflecting our multi-mineral, multi-feedstock refining identity. We are looking forward to an extremely busy March as well.

February included team travel to South Africa for the INDABA Investing in African Mining 2026 conference; the arrival of new refining equipment for our Marion and Noblesville, Indiana, facilities; and the Department of War's recognition that ReElement is contributing to the U.S. defense supply chain through an initial award from the department's Industrial Base and Alignment Sustainment (IBAS) program.

As conference season heats up in March, our team members will participate in several events, listed further below. Whether on-site or remotely, reach out to them on LinkedIn or through our public relations team to schedule an interview.

February Highlights

U.S. Department of War enhances U.S. rare earth elements supply chain resilience

The U.S. Department of War issued an official release on February 20 highlighting its two-year IBAS award (September 2025). The award supports a fully allied and domestic rare earth separation and purification supply chain.

What this investment supports:

✅ Processing diverse feedstocks including ores, recycled magnets, and manufacturing waste

✅ Scaling purification at ReElement’s Marion facility to advance the Department’s 2027 mine-to-magnet goal, as the adjacent photos show.

✅ Producing ultra-high purity rare earth oxides that enable metallization and magnet production, including Nd, Pr, Dy, and Tb

✅ Partner manufacturing of rare earth magnets that are essential components across defense and advanced commercial applications

✅ The DOW release reinforces the role ReElement is playing in expanding scalable, cost-effective U.S. separation and purification capacity.

Investing in African Mining INDABA conference, Feb. 9-12

Joining colleagues Ben Kincaid, CEO of ReElement Technologies Africa, and Shane Tragethon, ReElement VP of International Strategy, I participated in an intense week at
the Investing in African Mining INDABA conference in Cape Town, South Africa. Our meetings with customers, investors, and strategic partners across the critical minerals, technology, and industrial innovation ecosystems were very productive and laid the groundwork for future collaboration.

While we were away, the Limitless Africa podcast series hosted by Claude Grunitzky released two recordings featuring Ben Kincaid. He described ReElement’s vision for partnerships with African nations and shared prosperity between the United States and Africa. To learn more about our vision and pathway to the future, please access the Feb. 9 segment, which included Novare Equity Partners CEO Derrick Roper, and Ben's full interview, which aired on Feb. 12.

Our Rare Earths 101 Series

At ReElement, we are often asked five simple questions:

✅ What is the problem we are solving?

✅ What are the sources of the materials we process?

✅ Which elements are we currently able to process and refine?

✅ What are the end markets for those refined materials?

✅ What differentiates ReElement?

We have developed a short series of posts on LinkedIn that answers these questions. If you remember the early “DOS For Dummies” books that made information technology accessible, this series has a similar goal. Think of it as “Rare Earths 101,” a plain-language guide to what we do and why it matters.

This is an easy way to learn more about ReElement's position in the minerals refining supply chain.

Could the sight of a tractor-trailer really be exciting? Yes, when new, higher capacity refining equipment arrives at ReElement Marion!

Take a closer look inside as additional, larger processing equipment is positioned to support our growth.

The 63-inch diameter columns for our Marion Supersite have more than 14x more capacity than our Noblesville columns and enable us to meet the dynamic demand we are seeing from our supply chain partners.

Expanding domestic refining capability for rare earths and other essential minerals is foundational to building secure, transparent North American supply chains.

Upcoming Events in March

✅ March 3-4 - PDAC, Toronto, Ont.– Shane Tragethon, ReElement VP of International Strategy, and Kirk Taylor, CFO and co-founder of ReElement Technologies and American Resources, will participate in the annual Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) convention in Toronto. They will be on site for discussions with customers, investors, and strategic partners focused on scaling domestic and allied refining capacity for light and heavy rare earths and other essential critical minerals. To schedule time to speak with Shane or Kirk, please contact them through LinkedIn.

✅ March 9-10 - UNC Cleantech Summit, Chapel Hill, N.C. - Mark LaVerghetta, ReElement Co-founder and Executive Director, will serve as a panelist discussing "Circularity/ Closing the Loop: Critical Minerals and Rare Earths." His session will take place on March 9 from 4:45-5:45 p.m. and include representatives from Vulcan Elements and other companies. The summit brings together a network of global industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and the future workforce to learn about energy innovations and the cleantech economy. To arrange an interview with Mark, please contact him through LinkedIn or through our public relations team.

✅ March 11-12 - REMADE Circular Economy & Tech Summit, Washington, D.C. – Ben Kincaid, representing ReElement Technologies and its Africa division, will join ERI CEO John Shegerian, and representatives from Mint Innovation and Samsung for a discussion on "Recovering & Recycling Critical Minerals to Strengthen U.S. Supply Chain Resilience" on March 11 from 1:15-2:15 p.m. at the National Academies, 2101 Constitution Avenue, N.W. Industry innovators and other renowned experts will discuss U.S. and international efforts to recover and recycle critical minerals and rare earth elements from end-of-life products, including electronics, which could meet 40-60%, if not more, of the U.S’s demand by 2050. For on-site media interviews with Ben, please contact Megan Connor Murphy in advance for a badge.

✅ March 19-20 - Powering Africa Summit, Washington, D.C. Ben Kincaid will join six other panelists from industry, academia and U.S. and African governments to discuss "Critical Minerals in Africa: Meeting Global Demand" from 10:45-12:00 p.m. on Friday 20th.
