The Rise of Homo Roboticus in a Distressed Earth

 
In the fictional world of Homo Roboticus, the rising waters due to a Polar Reversal in 2056 triggered the displacement of billions of people on Earth. This led to mass migration of the global population from coastal territories to inland areas due to severe food insecurity. These conditions further led to colonisation by mightier countries towards poorly developed countries. Even with all these events happening, technology accelerated at an unprecedented speed  and the rise of sentient Homo Roboticus Machinas as a tool to subjugate helpless people became inevitable.

Fortunately, there is a natural balance in the world and this extends to the fictional world. The rise of the sentient Homo Roboticus Aequilavum and Sollus to counter the Machinas were a natural progression to the plot.

In the real world, the Covid19 virus created a pandemic which brought the world to its knees. Will this virus trigger a crisis on Planet Earth which will lead to the rise of a sentient Homo Roboticus?

I can guarantee that whatever humans are capable of imagining, it will come to fruition. That is human nature. From the beginning of time, man has found a way to create a product from the imagination, to innovate, problem solve the hardest challenges and find a solution.

Mankind has mulled the existence of the rise of robots since the Industrial Revolution. It might not come to fruition in this lifetime, but the inevitability of its existence is guaranteed.

The only question remaining is, despite all the inventions that man could dream of, will Planet Earth still be a viable planet for human beings to live in, or will the planet be so scarred, there is no space to house mankind's dreams for itself?





The Rise of Covid 19-
We are the Host



“We invade tropical forests and other wild landscapes, which harbor so many species of animals and plants—and within those creatures, so many unknown viruses. We cut the trees; we kill the animals or cage them and send them to markets. We disrupt ecosystems, and we shake viruses loose from their natural hosts. When that happens, they need a new host. Often, we are it.”

Unless we reverse the destruction of our environment, the possibilities of newer viruses will continue unabated in the years to come.

If we have not learned from the lessons of this pandemic,
then we are all doomed.





The Rise of the Korean Cineaste

 
The winning of Parasite in the Oscars 2020 was not a fluke.
The cinema and television auteurs of Korea have quietly, but spectacularly honed their craft over the years to its current superior status. Mind-blowing and superb storytelling,
stunning visual production details and brilliant acting makes it easy to binge-watch these shows. From heart breaking historical dramas to rom-com and crime procedurals shows, the Korean Golden Age to cineastes is here to stay.

I am still currently watching Homeland (Season 8), Billions (Season 5), Greys Anatomy (Season 16), but here are my top 10 recommendations for the new Korean cineaste -
