McCloud Real Estate Market Updates for AUGUST 2021

While the national real estate market has been in the news a lot due to high sales volumes and increased prices, McCloud hasn't quite seen that kind of sales growth this summer that most anticipated. While the market is strong and prices have increased, we are finding that properties must be priced within the market range in order to gain interest. Homes priced within the current market range are selling quickly!
We also put these properties into contract in August: 545 Broadway Ave, 212 S. McCloud Ave, #18 and 221 Modoc Ave as the listing brokerage and brought a buyer to 2731 Squaw Valley Rd, #15.

On a recent backcountry adventure, Josh arrived at his alpine lake destination after a long day of off-trail hiking in the Trinity Alps high country. There he met up with a couple who was staying at the same lake. After introductions and some catching up, they offered him a Mojito! Then they pulled out all of the fixings... fresh mint, lime, rum, sugar that they carried in on the long, challenging hike and topped it off with filtered spring water. After all day in the hot sun, it was the most refreshing drink ever!
Since then, we've recreated them at home a few times and wanted to share with you!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 20 sprigs fresh mint
- 1 lime cut in small wedges
- 2 ounces white rum
- ice
- 2 ounces sparkling water (we recommend carbonated McCloud tap water!)
INSTRUCTIONS
Add mint, sugar and lime in a small pitcher or large glass. Muddle together for about a minute until all of the juice is squeezed out of the lime and the oils have released from the mint. Add rum to the mint, sugar and lime mixture. Fill each glass with ice. Pour half of the mojito mixture into each glass. Top with sparkling water. Garnish with extra sprigs of mint leaves and enjoy!

Vacation Rental Moratorium
|
On August 3, 2021, the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors voted to approve an 18 month moratorium on all new vacation rentals in the county on parcels under 2.5 acres while the county completes its analysis for the General Plan Housing Element. This will go into affect on September 3, 2021 when they will stop accepting new applications for vacation rental conditional use permits. More information can be found HERE.
