Welcome to our first

Greetings!
Welcome
to our first electronic newsletter! We've missed being in touch
with our wonderful guests, and we want to let you know everything
that's been happening at Dunham Farms and Melon Bluff.
As
this is our first e-newsletter, you're receiving this because you
have stayed with us at Palmyra Barn or Palmyra Cottage at Dunham
Farms, or participated in activities at Melon Bluff.
We
hope you're interested in staying in touch, but we understand how
cluttered e-mail inboxes can become. If you'd prefer to opt out of
our electronic mailing list, please see the "unsubscribe" link at
the bottom of this e-mail.
Looking
forward to welcoming you back to Dunham Farms and Melon Bluff very
soon!
With
warm wishes,
Laura
and Meredith Devendorf

| Don't
miss our Holiday Fesitval |
Our first-annual Holiday
Festival
of Lights & Music!
During these difficult
times, every one of us could stand a gigantic infusion of joy,
beauty and laughter in our lives-a moment of pure magic that lifts
our hearts and brings us something wonderful to see, hear and
feel.
What better way than to spend an evening amid dazzling holiday
lights strung from ancient moss-covered oaks, listening to jazz
music and singing Christmas carols by the river, feasting on local
delicacies, enjoying gorgeous Christmas trees and model trains, and
even peeking in other people's houses decorated for the holidays
and full of rich and wonderful stories and legends. We get a thrill
just thinking of it!
Legendary jazz bassist Ben Tucker headlines the musical acts, and
get ready to swing your sweetie during some great old-fashioned
square dancing.

What's
in a Name?
Since the
1970s, we have been known as Melon Bluff. So why are we now calling
ourselves Dunham Farms?
In 2006, the
Devendorf family created the Springfield Legacy Foundation as a
means of protecting more than 8,000 acres of Georgia's coast in
perpetuity. The property known as "Melon Bluff" was the first
parcel to be donated, so for tax reasons we have had to rename our
ecotourism enterprise.
Dunham Farms
is named for the post office that operated on the property at the
end of the 1800s, and represents the many different land-focused
things we do here: including raising heritage camellias and tree
farming. We hope you love our new name as much as we
do!

Oh, My Darlin'!

We are in love...with our new farm
"pets," mother and daughter mini horse and mule. Sassy, pictured
above, gave birth to her fourth and final foal in May. Her baby,
Clementine, is a miniature Sicilian mule with delicate ears, a dish
face, fine deer-like legs, and the signature cross pattern on her
back and withers. Cruise the big bay horse loves them, and we know
you will, too!
