Catch a concert Saturday, June 29,
to benefit the library Foundation
On Saturday, June 29, you’ll have a chance to enjoy some good music, sip some great wine, and help the Mesa County Libraries Foundation – all at the same time!

The Doubious Brothers, a unique band of Western Slope musicians from a variety of musical traditions, will appear in concert Saturday, June 29, in a special performance to benefit the Mesa County Libraries Foundation.

The concert will take place at Grande River Vineyards, 787 N. Elberta Ave. in Palisade (off I-70 at Exit 42) and is the opening show for the winery’s Hear It Through the Grapevine outdoor summer concert series.  Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 29, and the music starts at 7:30 p.m., rain or shine!

Tickets are $15 each in advance or $20 at the gate. Kids 12 and under are admitted free.

Attend the concert and be one of the first to try the Foundation's newest, specially branded wine, The Grape Gatsby. This white wine was introduced in May and is perfect for summer sipping! The Foundation's red wine, Well Read, also will be available at the show.

Upcoming events include Telescope Clinic
There are plenty of events for all ages coming up in June and July at Mesa County Libraries.

Check out the June calendar here, and the July calendar here.

A fast-approaching event for astronomy enthusiasts is a Telescope Clinic, where you can learn more about using telescopes to view the night sky. It is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, in the Central Library Community Room.

The Western Slope Astronomy Club will host this clinic which focuses on the selection, operation, and maintenance of telescopes and their components. There will be an assortment of scopes and mounts on display in case you are thinking about buying a telescope of your own. The public is welcome to stop by and learn, or bring in your telescope and learn more about it from astronomy club members.
