November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month

 

Lung Cancer is the leading cause of all cancer deaths in the United States.  It is estimated that over 228,190 new cases will be diagnosed and approximately 159,480 people will die from lung cancer this year.  More people die from lung cancer than breast, colon and prostate cancers combined.

MN Oncology Radiation Therapist Wins National Award

Taniesha Seedorff, radiation therapist at Minnesota Oncology's Maplewood Cancer Center, recently received the "Outstanding Achievement in Radiation Oncology & Diagnostic Imaging for Radiation Therapy" award for the entire US Oncology Network.

Bowled Over for Angel Foundation
 
Minnesota Oncology's annual Bowling for Angel event raised a grand total of $15,150 to help fund Angel Foundation in the coming year as they provide support and non-medical financial assistance to patients and families facing cancer. 
 
This year's bowl-a-rama was hosted by Park Tavern Lanes in St. Louis Park on November 2 and featured a team costume contest, raffles, and awards for bowling skills and the most money raised.

MN Oncology Plymouth Clinic Now Open at WestHealth

Minnesota Oncology's Plymouth Clinic at the WestHealth medical center in Plymouth opened on November 4. We are pleased to now be seeing patients in this new location!

Spalon Montage Provides Patient Pampering
 
Spalon Montage in Edina offered complimentary services to some of our Edina Clinic breast cancer patients after hours earlier this month. Patients were treated to a choice of massage, reflexology, facial, pedicure, manicure, or hair/wig styling courtesy of Spalon employees who volunteered their time and talents. See more photos from the event here.Caregivers
