Dexter - Sharpei/Pit mix, Male, 8 years old, Fully Vetted

I am looking for a home for a very special dog.  Eight years ago, Dexter was found in a suitcase with a severe case of Demodex mange.  He and I bonded instantly and spent a lot of time together before finding the perfect home. Sadly, his mother needs to re-home him due to personal reasons and feels that she is not able to give Dexter the time he needs to be happy.  Dexter needs a new mom (he loves women but could have a dad too) who will appreciate and love his sweet soul.  When Dexter bonds, he bonds deep!

I would love to have Dexter live with me, but he would never be happy being one of seven dogs (I already have 6).  He would thrive on having a peaceful, quiet, low energy home with maybe a game of fetch in a fenced back yard.  He doesn't want to go on long walks and he doesn't require much exercise.  He's a home-body.  Dexter lost a front leg when he climbed a fence and broke it in several places.  He has recovered from the amputation and is as happy as ever. He lives with a small child but doesn't appreciate the tail pulling and leaves the room when annoyed.

Please help find Dexter the perfect family!!  He wants a true companion to spend most of the day with and who will make him a very important part of their life.

MOSTLY MUTTS SEEKING NEW SHELTER

Mostly Mutts is still seeking a suitable site to open a shelter to house our rescue dogs and a place where volunteers can help and the public can bring their donations.  We are in immediate need to find a location and are hoping someone will step forward to help this dream come true.  The ideal place would be in the Kennesaw/Acworth area, in very good condition and have a green space for dogs to be able to get outside during the day.  Contact Tammy at tammy2212@comcast.net if you or someone you know would be interested in talking more about this.  We are a 501 (c)3 and donations are tax deductible.  Thank you!!!!

Happy Birthday to Pranay and Mostly Mutts.  No, it's not our birthday but Pranay dedicated his special day to Mostly Mutts.  His family adopted Pippin from MM a few years ago and he wanted to help other dogs by giving to our organization.  We greatly appreciate his love and support and it makes us feel special when kids actively donate. I'm a happy girl because now I have a new family.  Don't we look comfy together? I'm cute and sweet and will take good care of my family.  

We came to Mostly Mutts after our mommy passed away when we were very young and had to be bottle fed by volunteers.  Now we are wild and crazy puppies ready to rule the world.  Actually, no, we just want to be with our mom and dad and to love them with our little hearts and souls.   

This life beats the life on the streets!  I was a stray for several weeks and fed by a Waffle House server.  They all adored me and saved my life.  Mostly Mutts found a very special home for me and we are all happy now.  

No question I hit the jackpot with my new mommy.  She just adores me and her comforting arms are what I wished for.  My puppy mill days are over and my best days are ahead.  

My foster family said since I was a perfect child, I could live with them forever.  I'm a little older than most rescue dogs (11 years) but that just makes me much more special.

My three babies and I just happened to be turned in to an animal control shelter at the same time MM was there pulling dogs. We were lucky we could walk out the same door we had just walked in within 5 minutes.   They took care of my babies, treated me for heartworm and then found the perfect family for me to live my life with.  Thank you to my foster family for loving me so much too.   

My new family took me home for a week and then came back to complete the adoption.  They think I'm the PERFECT dog for them and I have to agree.  I'm nothing but happy and silly and now grateful to have a family that loves me.

I was in pitiful shape when I came to Mostly Mutts.  Covered with mange, they started treatment immediately.  You would not even believe I am the same dog.  I'm pretty sure I have everything I could ever ask for right now!

I'm not the first Mostly Mutts dog in my family but I'm the smallest!  My family is awesome and they are going to really enjoy me.    

I have a family who can keep up with my energy! We'll have many years of adventure together and it all starts today! 

My last family tried to take care of me but they didn't have the time or money so MM helped me find a new family.  My new family adores me and just wait till they see me fetch a tennis ball.  I'm awesome! 

Mostly Mutts is not all dogs!!  Cats rule in my family and I'm glad I don't have to come to adoptions any more!  Wheeee.  

Another perfect fit.  My family says that they could not have asked for a better dog.  Yes, they LOVE Beagles but they especially love ME because I'm such a good boy! 

I will be living the city life now and that suits me just fine!  My mom and dad are happy to have a new baby to take care of and I'm thrilled too!

Hi all!  I came to Mostly Mutts covered in demodex mange from head to tail.  I am so thankful for them rescuing me - because now I'm on the road to recovery.  One of these days, I will be more gorgeous than I am now.  I LOVE everybody I meet and have such a happy personality - I love to show how thankful I am.  My personality is what makes me so deserving of your donations.  I hope you can help Mostly Mutts defray the cost.  They won't be able to help other dogs like me without your donations.  Please click here to donate to Patrice's treatment.

I was found as a stray with two ruptured eyes.  They are very painful but are feeling a little better each day, thanks to the treatment I have been receiving. Animal control took me directly to the eye specialist who contact Mostly Mutts for a rescue commitment before they would perform surgery.  Mostly Mutts said "go for it."  I had the surgery to help heal my corneas and maybe I will gain some eyesight.  But if not, at least I won't live in pain.  My foster family puts multiple drops in my eyes six times a day.  They are so awesome to care for me.  I really enjoy cuddle time and I am feeling very good now.
