Dear NDEO Members, Friends, and Colleagues,
In early April, I formally announced that I would be retiring as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Dance Education Organization on June 30, 2025. It has been a glorious experience heading the organization, and certainly is the high point of my professional life. After 13 years of service as ED/CEO, I am ready to step away from the demands and pace of running a national organization.
The world may feel chaotic at present, particularly in the arts and education sectors, but we have faced many challenges in the last several years, and I am confident that the organization will continue to thrive.
Today, I am excited that the Board has selected Melissa Greenblatt, currently NDEO's Managing Director, to assume the position of Interim Executive Director on July 1, 2025.
Melissa has over 18 years of work experience within NDEO, first as the Director of Membership and Marketing, and since 2017, as Managing Director. She has deep knowledge of NDEO, the field of dance education, business, marketing, and non-profit management. I have worked closely with Melissa during my tenure as Executive Director and am confident that her leadership will be a steady presence during this period of transition. Congratulations Melissa!
And thank you to all the NDEO members, supporters, partners, and donors for your continued support. I will be attending the NDEO National Conference in Detroit from October 3 - 6, so please stop by and say hello.
Regards,
Susan McGreevy-Nichols
NDEO Executive Director / CEO from May 2012 - June 2025
