The
learning center is busier than ever with members working on their homework. There are more than 100 members entering the learning center on a daily basis. Members are working hard to earn their Power Hour parties!
The LEGO Robotics team is gearing up for their competition on December 3rd in Worcester, MA at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Members have been given the opportunity to learn about fabric printing in the
art room. Many members have sewn bags and were able to choose different designs to print on their material.
Crayon melting projects continue to be one of the most popular activities in this creative area of the club. Cooking on Fridays with Caitlin is among the favorite activities in the art room.
The
computer lab has added another time slot for the My Future program! This program is still offered on Monday and Wednesday from 3pm-4pm and now from 5pm-5:45pm on Tuesdays. As of today, the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club is ranked the #1 Boys & Girls Club in America for member participation in the My Future program! Hugh has been working with the members on advancing their understanding of computer science, online safety, typing, and other important activities to increase digital literacy at the club. Myfuture
The teenagers have been busy in the kitchen participating in Teen Culinary Club on Mondays and Wednesdays. The teens have made fruit salads,
chicken quesadillas, yogurt parfaits, and much more!
Every third Thursday of the month, the teens visit the teen section in the public library for the Teen Advisory Board.
Thursday night teen nights include man hunt field trips, arts and crafts, soccer, basketball, and many other activities. Members in 6th grade and older may attend Thursday night teen nights.
Any members in 8th-12th grade may attend Friday and Saturday night teen nights. See our calendar for up-coming teen night events!
