NBGC, CFN Grant Recipient
Executive Director, Phyllis McInerney accepted a $2,000 grant on behalf of the Club, from the Community Foundation for Nantucket at this morning's Community Foundation Grant Giving Breakfast. The grant was given to help sustain the Club's Power Hour program, a homework help club. Our Power Hour program is one of our most successful programs, with over approximately 100 members participating this year. Funds will be used for much needed supplies and resources to help our kids be academically successful.
Thank you, CFN for all you do for so many Nantucket nonprofits!

Who's excited for Stroll Weekend!?
Club members had an awesome time decorating our tree in town this week. Check out some of these great photos!
After you check out our tree (located on the corner of Main and Centre Street), be sure to find us on Main Street on Saturday from 11:00am-noon, caroling on the Main Stage. Stop by to hear some of the season's favorite holiday carols!
Happy Strolling!

 Changing of the Guards!
We are proud to announce TJ Grant as our new Program Director! TJ is a true veteran of the Club, a Club member himself, and a staff member here at the Club in many different capacities throughout the past 9 years. We are sure that TJ's love and passion for the Club along with his leadership skills will make him a great Program Director and even more of an asset to the Club.
With that said, we are very sad to say that Megan, our former Program and Art Director will no longer be at the Club with us. We thank her for all that she has done for our Club members and wish her the very best in all of her future endeavors!

Member & Youth of the Month

Tshauni Brown.
Tshauni is a joy to have around. She currently has the best attendance in the Power Hour homework program and comes in everyday with a great attitude and a big smile on her face. She helps other members when they have problems, is an excellent role model for the younger kids, and was an easy selection for Member of the Month!
Nick Feare
Nick has been an outstanding Club member for 5 years here.  He shows kindness, leadership and patience every day he walks through our doors.  Nick is always looking for ways to help around the club whether it be cleaning up someone else's mess or helping younger members with their homework.  Nick is a breath of fresh air and we are proud to call him our Youth of the Month.

Athletics

It's that time of year again and basketball is in full swing! With our new facility this year we are expecting basketball to be bigger than ever. This year I'm excited to announce will be our inaugural season participating in the Cape Cod Youth Basketball League. We will be fielding two teams, a 6th grade boys team and a 6th grade girls team. They will be traveling off island, playing some of the best teams the Cape has to offer. Stay connected with schedule updates and scores at capehoops.com.
I would also like to thank all of our volunteer coaches because without you none of this would be possible!
We are looking forward to a GREAT basketball season! See you all in the gym!
Joe H.
Athletic Director
