Aalyssa Lawrence - Member of the Month
Aalyssa is 6 years old and has been chosen for March's 2017 Member of the Month! Aalyssa is in first grade at NES and this is her first year being a member at the Boys & Girls Club! She has an older sister named Tiana. Aalyssa exemplifies the well-rounded spirit of a Club kid! She is always friendly, kind, helpful and full of happy energy. You can find Aalyssa buzzing around the Club dabbling in many activities. She participates in the Kids on Ice program each week and has taken drum lessons with the Music Makers program. Aalyssa goes on field trips each week with the Phote Club and is always very enthusiastic in the Art Room each day creating. Aalyssa is our little double A battery fully charged with sweetness, enthusiasm, smiles, and joy. Her favorite things to do in the Club are activities in the Art Room and playing every game in the Games Room.

Eddie Clarkson- Youth of the Month
Eddie Clarkson is 16 years old and has been chosen for March's 2017 Youth of the Month! Eddie is a sophomore at NHS and he has been a member of the Boys & Girls Club since 2008. Eddie is by far one of the most well rounded Club members you can find. He has participated in just about everything the Boys & Girls Club has to offer such as Basketball, Football, Golf and Dodgeball Leagues just to name a few. He has participated in a few national programs such as Money Matters and Triple Play. Eddie LOVES the Club. He comes to the Club every day for the hustle and bustle of all the kids whether they are his friends, peers or the little kids. He loves being around all the different personalities. You can always find Eddie being friendly and helpful when he is at the Club. He is an amazing role model for the younger members. Eddie will take the time to help staff and most importantly help younger Club members. He takes the utmost pride in being a Boys & Girls Club member. Eddie is funny and smart and at school his favorite subject is Math. At the Club, his favorite place to be is in the Teen Room.

The NBGC is honored to be able to collaborate with Musack. Musack provides guitar lessons twice a week and drum lessons once a week. The Drum instructor is Nick Hayden and the Guitar instructor is Aidan Sherry. The lessons are approximately 15 minutes long each. The NBGC has 23 club members that actively participate in the Musack program. Some Musical facts - helps provide healthy brain development, a positive outlook and even academic gains. Music requires focus, creativity and self-direction. The kids at the NBGC look forward to these lessons that they might not have been exposed to outside of the NBGC. Nick & Aidan have a great rapport with the kids and inspire them each week.

Boxing practices will continue this week! The House of Champions Boxing Show will be held Friday, May 5th at 5:00 p.m.
Lacrosse sign-ups will continue until April 29th! Lacrosse is offered to members 1st-6th grade!
