Alumni Spotlight: Bridgette King

Henry David Thoreau said, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life as you have imagined." For some Nash Community College graduates, this direction circles back to campus. Nash Community College is one of the beneficiaries of the Fifth Duke K.I.D.S. Golf Classic held recently at Belmont Lake Golf Club. The event raises money for Duke Children's Hospital to assist Kids In Desperate Situations (K.I.D.S.). The lobby on the first floor of the College's Continuing Education and Public Services Building was named this year in honor of contributions to the College by West Mount Ruritan Club and Duke K.I.D.S. Donations from the event to the College will aid in the education and training of current and future EMS and Nursing students. Wayne Outlaw and Tommy Armstrong, two of West Mount's members, both have personal ties to Duke Children's Hospital, which were the basis for creating the Duke K.I.D.S. Golf Classic back in 2010. Nash Community College is pleased to announce its recent Nurse Aide I (NAI) and Nurse Aide II (NAII) graduates. The Nurse Aide I course introduces basic nursing skills required to provide personal care for patients in a health care setting. NAII students are often seasoned in providing direct patient care and wish to expand their knowledge. Having a NAII certification can help graduates secure a promotion in the field. NAII graduates are eligible to apply for the North Carolina State Board of Nursing NAII credential. For more information about Nash Community College's Nurse Aide program, call 252-451-8352. { Read more...}
