The Restorative Power of Nature
It's been a tumultuous year. Many have turned to outdoor recreation for respite - and for good reason! Science continues to show important connections between mental and physical well-being and time outside. From lower stress levels and inflammation to better concentration and mood, outdoor recreation offers a wealth of benefits to your mind, body and soul. Here are some ideas to get your dose of nature:
In this survey, 65% of respondents listed their job as the biggest barrier to getting outside. Now is the perfect time, especially considering CDC guidelines on social distancing, to move your meeting outside. Read this article from Forbes for more creative ways to get time outside while you're on the clock.
Newfound has many beautiful conserved areas that offer something for everyone- from arduous hiking trails to gentle strolls and pocket parks perfect for picnicking. We've compiled a list for you here: newfoundlake.org/hiking
Join an Outdoor Club
Combine outdoor recreation with socialization, which offers well-being benefits of its own while also helping you keep up the habit of spending time outside.

The benefits of being outside are the same for kids, and with the start of the school season outdoor recreation can give them a boost in the classroom (virtual or in person) by increasing their memory and concentration and building fine and gross motor skills. Grey Rocks Conservation Area
178 N Shore Rd, Hebron NH

Join us any time between 9:00 am and noon for a fall clean up of Grey Rocks Conservation Area. We will be cutting down and dividing perennials, mulching, and more. This event will follow safety guidelines including social distancing and a limit of ten people, registration required. Gloves and refreshments provided!
