Calendar of Virtual Events
A New Curated List of Virtual Activities
While many local gatherings have been cancelled or postponed, technology enables us to be part of a community that spans the globe! In celebration of these connections, we have curated a new calendar of virtual events . These online events, hosted by organizations near and far, align with our mission of conservation.
Protect what you love.
If the trials of this spring have proven anything, it is that Newfound faces challenges with strength and solidarity. We come together as a community.

In times of uncertainty and change, a resilient community can still thrive. Now, more than ever, we must build Newfound's resiliency to continue to meet the challenges of today and of the future. By renewing your membership to NLRA, or joining as a new member, you protect our clean water, our healthy forests, and the prosperity of our community.

For an in-depth look at the many initiatives and projects your membership supports (and our membership perks!) read this email newsletter and our spring edition of The Monitor .

To our many new and returning members that have already shown their support, thank you for standing behind Newfound!

Still need to make your 2020 contribution? If you value our clean lake, our green forests, and our thriving community, show your support today.

Please Welcome our Watershed Stewards
Newfound Watershed Stewards are part of the Lakes Region Conservation Corps, a region-wide AmeriCorps program. Our Watershed Stewards are important members of the NLRA team, leanding their time and talents to further our mission of conserving the Newfound watershed.

Stewards support water quality monitoring efforts, guard against invasive species, reduce and prevent stormwater erosion through innovative landscaping practices, and work with community partners on projects around the watershed.

In their first few weeks, including a two-week quarantine period, our Watershed Stewards have already:
  • Participated in National Trails Day at the Hebron Town Forest
  • Performed site maintenance at Grey Rocks Conservation Area including weeding, pruning, and general clean-up.
  • Completed Cummings Beach swale plantings with the Pasquaney Garden Club.

Colleen Clausen is a New Hampshire native with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Colby-Sawyer College. She has experience in water quality testing and landscaping and an interest in animal behavior and aquatic ecology. Read her full bio here.

Ryan Hannon, originally from Massachusettes, is a recent graduate of Plymouth State University and holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning and Sustainability. He also holds certifications in permaculture design and geographic information systems. Read his full bio here.

2020 Newfound EcoTours
For the health and safety of participants and staff, we are currently not accepting reservations for the 2020 season. An announcement will be made when we feel it is safe to operate Newfound EcoTours again. For questions email Program Manager Andrew Veilleux.

The two hour EcoTour on the NLRA pontoon boat is a great way for visitors and residents to learn more about Newfound and the importance of protecting it. Tours include hands-on activities, historical and ecological narration by our experienced drivers, and time to just soak in the sights and sounds of this magical place.
Boating
Motorboats, skicraft, and personal watercraft can affect lake quality, plants and animals, and the stability of the shoreline. Follow these guidelines from NH Lakes to reduce your impact to the lake while boating:
