NORTHSIDE NOTES: August 17, 2016
Luncheon for the Gregg Family
Sunday, August 21
Noon in the Fellowship Hall

Dear Friends,
As you are aware, last Tuesday Mike Gregg, our Associate Pastor and Minister of Educational Life, announced that he has accepted a call to serve as Pastor of Royal Lane Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. While we are still grieving over our loss, we are very happy for the Greggs as we recognize what a wonderful opportunity this is for Mike, Amanda and their family.
In recognition and appreciation of the more than nine years that Mike and Amanda have nurtured us, loved us, taught us and been community with us, we would like to send them to Texas with our love and a love gift. A love offering is being collected for the Greggs and will be presented to them at the luncheon following worship on August 21, their last day with us.
Everyone in the church has the opportunity to participate in this endeavor. If you are interested in making a contribution to the Greggs, please send your tax deductible gift to the church, designated for the Greggs' Love Offering, by August 19, recognizing that your gift should be "over and above" your current commitment to the church.
We look forward to having a wonderful celebration with the Greggs on August 21, sending them on their way to Texas with our blessings in their hearts and something in their pockets.

Sanctuary Choir Retreat
Saturday, August 20 at 9:30 AM
The Sanctuary Choir will start the fall season with a retreat on Saturday, August 20 , in the Undercroft and Choir Room at the church. We will gather at 9:30 AM. for a light breakfast and fellowship. Rehearsal will start at 10AM, and we will rehearse until 1 PM. (We will take a break in the middle.) We will have lunch and fellowship on campus to close our day together.
The focus of the retreat will be the music for Gaudete Sunday (December 11), and anthems for the first few weeks of fall worship services. Yes, Christmas is still four months away, but I like to plan ahead.
As we transition into fall, we have opportunities for you to participate in the Music Ministry at NDBC. I want to extend a personal invitation to anyone who is interested in singing in the choir to join us for the retreat. If you are unable to attend the retreat, weekly rehearsals being on Thursday, September 8 at 7:15 PM. For more information, please contact Keith at  .
