OPEF Board Member Spotlight:
Kristin Schreindl
Kristin Schreindl joined the OPEF Board of Directors in 2018 and currently serves as the Chair of the Grants Committee. Kristin and her husband Spencer have lived in Oconomowoc for almost 20 years. They have two sons who currently attend Nature Hill Intermediate School.
Kristin is a sales professional for The Boelter Companies, Inc. located in Pewaukee where she has worked with the Senior Living industry for over 11 years. When she is not working or volunteering, she loves to read, work out daily, cook and try new recipes and watch her two boys participate in many activities.

Kristin began her volunteer work with the schools as a Meadow View PTO board member in 2013, served on the referendum committee and, most recently, became an active member of the Oconomowoc Gridiron Club. She says she misses the days when she could volunteer regularly in her kids’ classrooms! Kristin joined OPEF because she was seeking another avenue to be involved with her kids’ education and an opportunity to connect with parents with similar mindsets.  As a member of OPEF, she has a front row seat to see teachers create and design innovative ways to engage their students within the existing curriculum. These learning opportunities wouldn’t be possible without extra effort from teachers and she loves supporting those who go above and beyond. As the grants chair, she is excited to be part of the grant selection process and award deserving grant recipients.

Both of Kristin’s parents are retired public school educators and her sister currently teaches 2nd grade in Mukwonago. While not a teacher herself, she feels watching her parents in their careers as educators has given her a deeper understanding of the important work teachers do and why our support is so important. Kristin encourages others to get involved with OPEF because it is very rewarding to see all the wonderful things OPEF has facilitated for students, teachers and members of our community. Kristin says, “There is always room for more volunteers, supporters or board members who would like to make a difference at OASD and in the community. Please consider getting involved!”

We are grateful for the support and leadership that Kristin has provided to OPEF over the past several years. Kristin just recently signed on for a second term with OPEF!
