POT Frequently Asked Questions
We are less than 3 weeks away from this amazing spiritual feast and retreat! Here are some responses to your most frequently asked questions.
Is it too late to register and attend?
We have a few rooms still available. The last day to register and pay is July 31, 2017. Contact Darnetia Parrott immediately to secure your room.
I'd like to submit a tribute ad in the program book. Unfortunately, the program book is closed. We can no longer accept additional ads.
I'd like to sell products in the Expo area. Who do I contact? Contact Darnetia Parrot for details on selling products in the Expo area.
Do I need a passport? Everyone traveling to Montego Bay, Jamaica must have a valid passport.
Is there any special attire I should pack? The theme for the gala this year is "An Evening Under the Stars featuring Garvey, The Musical." The gala will be held on Friday, August 11 at 6:30pm. After Five attire is requested.
How do I get from the airport to the resort? Upon your arrival at Sangster International Airport after you have collected your luggage from baggage claim and cleared immigration and customs please proceed to the Hyatt Ziva Hospitality Lounge and provide them with your name. At this point they will then direct you to your ground transportation that will bring you over to the hotel. Ground transportation between the Hyatt Ziva and the airport in Montego Bay will be pre-arranged for registered conference attendees only.
Is there anything I need to know before checking in to the hotel? Everyone must be a registered hotel guest to be admitted on the property. Arrivals earlier than the date of the reservation and departures later than the date of reservation are not permitted. If you need to add extra nights please contact Darnetia Parrott at darnetia@utruthcenter.org or 305-624-4991 by July 31, 2017.
Check-in time for the hotel is 3:00pm. If you arrive before then and your room is ready they will provide you with your keys. If at that time your room is not ready the bellmen will hold your luggage while you go out and explore all that the Hyatt Ziva has to offer.
Tipping is not required but recommended.
What time does the event begin?
Registration will open on Wednesday, August 9 at 11:00am in the foyer of the ballroom
The first session for POT 2017 will start on Wednesday, August 9 at 5:30pm with a Welcome Reception.
I would like to volunteer during POT. Who should I contact?
If you are interested in tithing some of your time during P.O.T. please send an email to darnetia@utruthcenter.org. We are looking for ushers, greeters, hospitality, and bookstore assistance.
Is there anything I need to know about the Youth Summit at POT?
Youth Summit 2017: Peace Dialogue with Arun Gandhi on
Saturday, August 12 at 1:30pm. We have partnered with Hanover Charities located in Montego Bay and will be hosting an off-site Youth Summit at the Montego Bay Culture Center. This summit will be an opportunity for us to have dialogue on peace. If you are interested in attending you must pre-register for this event. Buses will depart the Hyatt Ziva at 12:45pm and return at 3:45pm. Click here to register.
Are there activities during POT that have additional costs?
Paint and Sip with Shawn Ashman on Saturday, August 12 at 5:30pm. Join us for an evening of art as your discover your inner Picasso. We will be painting a piece titled "Inner Peace." The cost for this event is $35.00 per person and is limited to only 40 people so register early. You must be pre-registered to participate. Click here to register.
