Community colleges play an important role in educating and training current and future generations of workers,
in addition to providing affordable and responsive higher education to thousands of Pennsylvanians every year.
Dual Enrollment Offers High School Students College Credits
Not many people can say they received a high school diploma and a college degree in the same year, but – at only 18 years old – Delila Matara is one of them. She was also the youngest graduate at the Montgomery County Community College 2020 Commencement Ceremony. Ms. Matara was able to receive both diplomas because she took advantage of dual enrollment.
Community College Alumnus is Rebuilding City Through Hope
After his release from prison, Jose Rivera dedicated himself to helping forgotten populations in Allentown's Center City. He graduated from Lehigh Carbon Community College in May of 2020 and transferred to Muhlenberg College. Mr. Rivera is studying business so he can create opportunities for people and places that he feels have been left behind.
